In the Eco printing course students have learned how chemicals can change colours. We used cabbage science to change the colour of cabbage water using acids and bases from our kitchen.
After our visit to Karlkurla park, students have started to print leaves on silk. The silk has been pre-mordanted with Alum and we are adding Iron (rust) and pomegranate to our dye baths as a mordant.
Mordants help the colour of the plants to stick to the silk better.
