Write a book in a day-
On Thursday morning the 20th of June 8:00,there was activity in the IMAGINANEERS room. ’WRITE A BOOK IN A DAY CHALLENGE’. It was really fun! And then we had hot chocolate, Tim tams and Liquorice! We wrote a book for children in the hospitals so we could raise money for children who have cancer. We were put in groups to work with each other. One topic was about a dingo that drives a car and a horse kicks the final goal in soccer. Then another topic was about a fashion crisis featuring a nurse, a house plant and a basketball player. WHAT EXCITING BOOKS!!

Two teams of students took on the challenge to write a book in 12 hours. The prompts were challenging but all student stepped up to the mark and came up with brilliant ideas!!! All illustrations in the books are original hand drawn pictures by our students.
Although we had two students off sick, all students were able to take part thanks to great teamwork, and technology. David and Jordan participated through 'facetime' with the car crash team keeping the connection going and coordinating the collaboration. Excellent teamwork guys!!!
As part of the competition, students are fundraising for the 'Kids Cancer Project'. Johanna has raised more than $400.00 already by selling lemons and and by talking to friends and family about this worthy cause.
It was a long day but students put in 120% and worked very hard, writing over 2000 words and drawing illustrations for each page. They were able to keep to the recommended timeline! We uploaded the books at 7.55 pm with an 8pm deadline. We would like to thank everyone who came to support us and a big thank you to Mrs Western for picking up our pizza's and Mrs Miller and Mrs Osmetti for the hot chocolate!!
